What should our first video be about? Want to be part of the video? Shall we do a Formula One video?
Maybe about formula one, yes.
Want to be part of it? Tomorrow?
Help me with CTAM whenever you can even if you can only post one number and it's a deal.
I won't be able to make it up your end (in fact I don't even know when I'll be in Leicester next) but I do know that I will definitely do a video about that crappy lamp from Lidl's
If I do the video, would you be able to edit it for me (I'm sure there will be some editing that will be needed etc) and then shove it up to the QuantumQuasar channel? I was going to do it on my channel but doing it on the QQ channel would be better, especially if it has monetization enabled.
I'll also tell you exactly what to put in the description of the video and the title etc.
If, once I've carried out the modifications, any of you want the lamp, just let me know.
If it's on an ES base, rather than BC, then I can probably get it swapped to LED very quickly and efficiently
but if it's on an BC base then I'll have to try and find an LED at a relatively good price, or just stick a 70W halogen in it (or 60/100W incandescent).
(Fyi, the two main lecture theaters in Queens Building were converted from incandescent to CFL ages ago (they were CFL when I joined), but a year or two ago they upgraded them to LED. They're ES fittings and some of the sockets are reasonably accessible. Once, when one of the lights in the main foyer went kaput, which was also an ES screw, they replaced it with a shitty 7W CFL, which was nowhere near bright enough - so I shoved it in a fitting in one of the lecture theaters, swapping an LED out for it. The LED doesn't get used much at all, due to the location of the lamp (a floor standing lamp) being right under one of the shitty 150W metal halide lamps that @pinkteddyx64
knows about. So I'm going to switch the high-power LED (100W equivalent) out of that floor lamp, and replace it with either an incandescent or the 7W CFL that used to be in it. With a bit of bulb swapping, I should be able to ditch that 23W CFL that comes with the LIDL lamp, and put an LED in it instead.
This assumes that the bulb in the floodlight is ES. If it's BC, I'll have to try and find an LED from elsewhere.)
