I can't believe it! (Brain Training on DS)

I decided to play a few of my long forgotten Nintendo DS games tonight, and two of them in particular were Brain Training, and More Brain Training.
You know the ones. The ones where you have to do training, and then run a test to find out how old your brain actually is.
Which, is probably not very scientific whatsoever.

But anyhoo, I've been playing More Brain Training more regularly the the original Brain Training (though when I say regularly, I mean once every few months).
Out of all my Nintendo DS games, I play Mario Kart DS the most often, which was, and still is a great game. I will get myself a Nintendo 3DS,and get some 3DS games soon. Once I'm earning, this is.

Back to the topic of this: the original Brain Training game. Now, every so often, when you log in, it asks you questions, to warm your brain up, and then asks the same questions a few days later, and compares your answers, to see how your memory is.
It did this to me today.

Here's the thing: it asked me the following:
"What colour (sic) clothes were you wearing on 8/4?"
Now, by 8/4, this is 8th April, not August 4 - the latter being what I associate with the date "8/4". But anyway, what I wrote in the answer box was:
"Now, what year was this?" - since it didn't have the actual year, seeing as though it assumes you play semi-regularly.
The results were interesting. Not only did I not write anything in the answer box on "8/4", but here's the interesting bit... scrolling through when I last played this game, it turns out that the "8/4" that they were talking about, was actually in 2013.
Yes, April the 8th, 2013!

Ask yourself (or myself) this: how the fuck am I supposed to remember what color clothes I was wearing almost 4 and a half years ago! In fact, chances are I don't even have any clothes from 4 and a half years ago, due to them now being either too small for me, or being used so much that they've worn themselves out (and therefore binned ages ago). After all, this was when I was just about finishing my A Levels, and therefore when I was about a stone lighter than I am now, or about 2-3 inches smaller at my chest and waist...
Plus, I have a totally different fashion taste now than what I did 4 and a half years ago! :p

Update time!

I'm having another go at Brain Training (the first one, not More Brain Training) and it is asking me this:

"What was the most interesting thing you saw on TV yesterday?"

Well, I didn't watch anything interesting at all yesterday - but anyway, let's check back in 4.5 years time (so about March - April 2022?) and see if it asks me the same thing...

Will I even have a working Nintendo DS in 4.5 years time? That's the question. I know by then, I'll have got a Nintendo 3DS, and maybe even whatever has superseded that, but the most interesting thing on TV? Watch this space.... (if TBAAJ even exists in 2022)

Here we go again, @Kyx and @pinkteddyx64!

Just opened up one of my other profiles on Brain Training and it has just asked me this:

"What did you eat for dinner on 19/12?"

Of course, this is 19th December (or December 19th if you are like me and prefer the date in MM/DD format), but the question is, what year is this? And considering that this is a profile that is used even more infrequently than my main profile was, goodness knows...

Place your bets now...

edit: It turns out that the year in question, was either 2008 or 2009... That is almost 10 years ago! How the fuck are you supposed to remember what you did 10 years ago?!

The only thing I do know from 10 years ago was that 2007 was a disaster for music, and it rained all summer long (thanks to the Umbrella song), but to know what you ate on a specific date? Seriously?!

There's a better chance of my account on TSR getting reinstated and you becoming an ST member than this site existing in 2022. :getmecoat: :(

And do you think even if it does, CTAM will be finished by the year 2022?

I should be an ST member by then, but having said that, I don't know what I'll even be doing in 2022!

CTAM might get finished by then... but the trouble is, if the only thing that is active in a few years time (say 2022 then) is CTAM, it would probably be better just jumping to Wrongplanet.net and archiving the stuff here. After all, WrongPlanet would definitely welcome you onboard (I've been there for quite a while) and they have lots, and I mean lots, of different CTAM variants. More than what we could ever have on here. And they are all currently active!

That's the thing, why does TSR have such a big issue with lots of counting variants if other forums successfully manage it?

I had an account with WP but not as pinkteddy and it had a delete but retain the posts thing done to it, due to inactivity, me not posting any longer. Surely I should be okay rejoining as pinkteddyx64 right?

As for your Nintendo DS, have you ever played any Pokemon games on it? If so, which?

Back onto Brain Training (or should I say, Brain Age), and it asked me what the most interesting thing on TV was on 10/14.

Not bad, except for the fact that 10/14 was actually 10/14/18 - am I really supposed to know what I was watching on TV about a year and a half ago?

This is almost as bad as when it asked me for what clothes I was wearing about 4.5 years after I had played the game last, as well as when it asked me what clothes I was wearing almost 10 years after the previous owner (so not me) had entered their answer.
I mean, seriously, how are you supposed to know what color clothes some complete stranger was wearing almost a decade ago...
